High Energy Rock/Pop with very catchy melodys delivered with aggressive guitar riffs and wild loops.

GeezecatsIf your band can’t afford “fembots” then do something like the Geeze Cats (see left) and do something funk like decorate the stage, or like Mathew Ebel and simply paint your nails black. DO SOMETHING to set you apart from the audience, and yet be sure to not disconnect yourself from your audience do meet and greets, sign merchandise etc).

Throw Dave a BoneToday we are talking about another Podsafe Music Success story.  Blake Morgan recently shot up the charts with his new version of the Paul McCartney classic “Maybe I’m Amazed” by getting some exposure via podcasting. I’ve been talking about this since I published the free chapter of my book Get Your Band Out of the Basement and Keep them Out of the Asylum called “Promoting Your Band with Podcasting” (its a free sample).

156 Band Common Sense

icon for podpress  Standard Podcast [25:27m]: Play Now | Play in Popup | Download

Music Promotion TipsToday I’m going to share some insights from my book “Get your band out of the basment and keep them out of the asylum.” (www.musicianlibrary.com

While it is a rock concert (and you don’t want to be mistaken for a Britney Spears show), throwing away your hearing in the name of rock and roll will more than likely be regretted in the future.

I played with a band this weekend that could wake the dead with their volume. My ears are still rining. Were we playing a festival with a giant stage? Nope, we played a paviliion to about 40 people and we could dry their hair with the volume. However, as I was told, “Hey we’re a rock band.” You sure are, and that might the reason you’re only playing once a month.

I also talk about a festival I went to where SIGNED BANDS didn’t have a CLUE on how to put on a professional show. It was sad to see. I talk about some cool tools you can use to avoid these situations.

We also play some music from the Eight Bucks Experiment (www.eightbucks.com ) “Volume Junky.”

151 Spice Up Your Website

icon for podpress  Standard Podcast [6:29m]: Play Now | Play in Popup | Download

It’s three link Thursday!

I found some cool tools to help apply some pressue and pizzazz to your website as well as some cool marketing resource at youtube.

LINK 1
Ad Peels
www.musicianscooler.com/adpeels
Ad PeelsThis is an interesting tool where it makes the top right corner of your website “peel back” and reveal an image that you can specifiy. This can be used to ask people to buy your CD, join your newlsetter, sample a new song. It’s slick and $37 bucks at

Link #2
IMUrgency
www.musicianscooler.com/imurgency
This is an insane count down timer. So you could have people peel back your website for a cool special offer, then on the special offer this count down timer explains that this is a ONE TIME OFFER. Buy this now before the clock runs out. If times runs out, the sript sends them to you normal cd sale page (and the visitor can’t use th back button). Very interesting. It adds a sense of urgency to your sales page.

Link #3 Music Tips on Youtube.com
From Nick Daugherty www.nicksjourney.com said there is some cool tips on youtube.com at http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=TalkMusicBiz thanks Nick!
