4:20 New Rersouce for Musicians www.bigtime-artist-resources.com has a ton of great article for musicians. This was sent in from Kevin Revees from www.kevinreeves.net and his new hard rockin’ side project www.thefreefalleffect.com

7:55 From Steve P{asek from BiG Productoins Inc who works with  www.podcastdupont.com talks about how you can make a "Directors Cut" for your CD (we taked about this in last issue). You can do this by creating your CD as a data disc with two partitions (one music and one data).

They made these enhanced CDs were only part of the First Pressing of the CD, and the CDs were marked "First Pressing" (making them special).

On their third CD they made it so that anyone who buys the Cd gets a free membership card. The fan club membership that includes a membership card and downloads of live acoustic and electric versions of songs from all 3 CDs. You can’t get these mp3s anywhere. ONLY by being a member.

They mail the membership card to the customer (obtaining the address from the CDBaby Sale). They market this on their myspace page as Free MP3s. So to get the free mp3s you have to be a member, to be a member you have to buy the CD. Brilliant.

The extra content on the CD can point to an email sign up form on their website, or even point them to a "Sneak Peek" of music on their other CDs. ( http://www.chainsawdupont.com/sneakpeek )

They also offer 2-for-1 deals for fans (with any club that goes for this, some add a time limit, 2-for-1 until 8:30). This gets the fans involved in bringing their friends (thus turning your fans into a street team).

15:10 Steven Cravis met some people from Israel and it turns out they not only knew his music, they were playing it. They loved his music. How? By having his music in iTunes. He also has his sheet music at http://www.lulu.com/stevencravis It was just another great example of how the world is getting flatter.
