Practice is Never a Bad Idea
I had heard where Lita Ford was touring with Queensryche (one of my favorite bands). She would be using Queensryche as her backing band, and Geoff Tate would be singing “Ozzy’s part” on the song close your eyes forever.
On the Rock and Roll Geek show he interviewed Lita who expalined there was no need to rehearse when you are on this level. Well I tend to disagree. Here is what Geoff osunds like when he doesn’t know the lyrics or melody, and here is what Lita sounds like without auto tune (but looks great doing it).

You are so right about practice. I once asked jazz drummer Jake Hanna when he stopped practicing (meaning, when was he so good that he didn’t have to). His first answer was, “so you’ve heard me play?” Smart ass. But he went on to say, “we all practice.” uh huh.

PS What’s auto tune? jt
